The Awaiting reply indicator flags clients who have messaged your studio and are still waiting on a response. It's Loyalsnap's way of showing you exactly who needs a reply, and it appears in two places: the Inbox and the Dashboard.
What "Awaiting Reply" Means
A conversation is marked Awaiting reply when a client has sent a message and your studio hasn't responded yet. The indicator clears automatically when you reply — or you can clear it yourself if the conversation doesn't actually need a response (see below).
It's different from Unread: unread means there's a message you haven't opened, while awaiting reply means the client is waiting on a response — you may have already read the message but not yet replied.
In the Inbox
In the inbox, a conversation that needs a response shows an Awaiting reply tag next to it. To see all of them in one place, use the Awaiting reply filter at the top of your inbox.
To clear the tag:
- Reply to the client. Sending a response clears it automatically.
- Or mark it resolved. If the conversation doesn't need a reply, open the conversation's three-dot menu and choose Mark as resolved.
For more on inbox filters, read status, and archiving, see Managing Your Inbox: Filters, Read Status, and Archiving.
On the Dashboard
The same indicator appears on client cards in your Dashboard categories, so you can spot who's waiting without leaving the board:
- In the grid view, a client who's awaiting a reply shows a small clock icon next to their name.
- In the list view, that same client shows an Awaiting reply tag.
Open the client and reply to clear the indicator, just like in the inbox.
Troubleshooting / FAQs
Q: What's the difference between Unread and Awaiting reply?
A: Unread means there's a message you haven't opened. Awaiting reply means a client is waiting on a response — you may have read it but not replied yet.
Q: I replied, but the indicator is still showing.
A: Give the page a refresh. The indicator updates once your reply is recorded. If it's still there, confirm the reply actually sent in the Inbox.
Q: A conversation doesn't need a reply. How do I clear it?
A: Open the conversation's three-dot menu in the Inbox and choose Mark as resolved. If the client messages again, it'll come back so you don't miss it.
Q: Why did the indicator come back after I resolved it?
A: A new message from the client reopens the conversation and flags it as awaiting reply again.
