Loyalsnap can play a short chime whenever a new message arrives in your inbox, so you don't have to watch the screen to catch new replies. This article explains how to turn it on and how it works.
Turn the Sound On or Off
- Go to Settings and open the Notifications page.
- Under Sounds, toggle Play a sound when a new message arrives on or off.
- Click Test sound to hear the chime.
This setting affects this device only and is on by default, so each computer you log in from keeps its own preference. Turning it off on your laptop won't turn it off on the front-desk computer, for example.
How It Works
- The chime plays when a new inbound text is delivered to your inbox.
- It stays quiet while you're already viewing the inbox, so you're not chimed at for messages you're actively watching.
Sounds vs. New Message Notifications
The Notifications page has two separate settings, and you can turn each on or off on its own:
- New messages — Show a notification when a new message arrives. Shows an in-app alert, plus a desktop notification when Loyalsnap is in the background.
- Sounds — Play a sound when a new message arrives. Plays the short chime described above.
Both settings affect the current device only.
Troubleshooting / FAQs
Q: I don't hear the sound. Why?
A: First, check that the toggle is on under Settings > Notifications > Sounds, and use Test sound to confirm your device can play it. Also note the chime stays silent while you're viewing the inbox, and that some browsers won't play sound until you've clicked somewhere on the page at least once. Finally, make sure the browser tab isn't muted.
Q: I turned it on, but a coworker still doesn't hear it.
A: The sound setting affects each device on its own. Every person needs to turn it on in Settings > Notifications on their own computer.
Q: Does this work on the mobile app?
A: This sound setting is for the web portal. On mobile, use the app's push notifications instead.
