You can point an automation at a specific Static Client List — either to reach only the clients on that list, or to hold the automation back from the clients on it. It's a simple way to fine-tune who an automation reaches without changing the automation itself.
How It Works
Each automation has a Static Client Lists field. Select one or more lists, then decide how they're used:
- Leave the box unchecked (default): the automation reaches only the clients on the selected list(s).
- Check "Exclude clients in this Static Client Lists?": the automation skips the clients on the selected list(s).
This works with Static Client Lists you've created (including the referral-based lists Loyalsnap can build for you).
Set It Up
- Go to Automations and open the automation you want to target.
- In the Static Client Lists field, click Select Static Client Lists and choose one or more lists.
- To skip those clients instead of targeting them, check Exclude clients in this Static Client Lists? (leave it unchecked to reach only those clients).
- Save your changes.
Good to Know
- This targets Static Client Lists — lists whose members you manage. Add or remove clients on the list any time, and the automation's audience updates with it.
- Excluding a list is a quick way to protect a group from a message without turning the whole automation off.
Troubleshooting / FAQs
Q: How do I target only a list versus exclude it?
A: Select the list in the Static Client Lists field. Leave Exclude clients in this Static Client Lists? unchecked to reach only those clients; check it to skip them.
Q: Can I use more than one list?
A: Yes — you can select multiple Static Client Lists in the field.
Q: I don't have a list yet.
A: Create one first — see Create a Static Client List — then come back and add it to the automation.
