Template locking is configured by the Loyalsnap team on your behalf. Contact your Loyalsnap rep to request it.
What is Automation Template Locking?
Loyalsnap allows HQ admins to lock automation and template settings (timing, triggers, on/off status) so individual studio locations can't change how an automation runs. Template locking also extends that control to the message content itself so the actual copy inside the automation's SMS or email isn't able to be edited by anyone other than an HQ staff member.
When a template is locked, studio staff can see the message but cannot edit the text. This ensures every location in your network sends the exact copy HQ approved, with no risk of off-brand or inconsistent messaging.
Who Can Use This?
Template locking is available to Franchise HQ accounts. Individual studios will see locked templates as read-only. They can view the message but can't change it.
How to Request Template Locking
To lock the message content on one or more automation templates across your franchise:
- Contact your Loyalsnap rep and let them know you want your automations locked.
- Your rep will apply the lock on the backend and confirm when it's done.
- Once locked, studio teams who open the automation will see the message content as text-only. Any changes to locked copy must go through the Franchise HQ.
Troubleshooting / FAQs
Q: A studio says they can still edit a message that should be locked.
A: Reach out to your Loyalsnap rep to verify the lock is applied on their end. If it is, have the studio do a full browser refresh as permission changes can take a moment to propagate.
Q: Can some locations be locked while others aren't?
A: Template locking currently applies across all locations that inherit that automation from HQ. Location-specific exceptions aren't supported. Reach out to your rep if you have a specific scenario to discuss.
Q: We need to update the copy on a locked template. How does that work?
A: Any Franchise HQ team member can do this directly in the studio, or on the HQ account.
Q: Does this work for both SMS and email automations?
A: Yes. Template locking applies to both SMS and email message content within automations.
