Studio merge fields is a feature that allows studio users to manage frequently used content within all of their templates at once. Located in the Settings page of the Portal in the Studio Info tab, studio merge fields are available for users to fill out to be used dynamically in their Email Blast and Automation templates, Dashboard Scripts, Client Details page, and Texting Inbox.
When you navigate to your Settings Tab, simply click on Studio Info and scroll down to Studio Merge Fields to see the options for your studio!
You will see how many you have completed, as well as any fields that need to be completed. Once you update the fields on this page, the information will be available for use throughout your portal!

Template Editor

In a text input field, click the Merge Tags dropdown

Select the merge field section and merge field from the list
- You will not have the option to select any merge fields that do not have a value
Rich Text Editor

When using the rich text editor in the client details page, scripts editor or texting inbox, click the @ symbol

- You will not have the option to select any merge fields that do not have a value
Troubleshooting Unresolved Merge Fields
Unresolved Merge Fields on the Automations Page
If the template associated with an Automation has unresolved merge fields, you will see an error under the template name
Click Edit and a modal will appear to allow you to resolve the merge field without navigating to the settings page. The unresolved merge field input will be highlighted green to indicate which field is needed for the template.
Enter the value and press Save. Once all the unresolved merge fields in the associated template have been resolved, the error will go away and you can enable the automation.
Unresolved Merge Fields in the Template Editor
If a template has unresolved merge fields, you will see an error next to the Save Template call to action.
Click Edit and a modal will appear to allow you to resolve the merge field without navigating to the settings page. The unresolved merge field input will be highlighted green to indicate which field is needed for the template.
Enter the value and press Save. Once all the unresolved merge fields in the associated template have been resolved, the error will go away you can save the template.

When you create or edit an Email Blast, choose a template from the dropdown in the Content Section. If the template has unresolved merge fields, you will see an error under the template name.
Click Edit and a modal will appear to allow you to resolve the merge field without navigating to the settings page. The unresolved merge field input will be highlighted green to indicate which field is needed for the template.
Enter the value and press Save. Once all the unresolved merge fields in the associated template have been resolved, the error will go away you can send your Email Blast.

FAQ/Important Information
- At this time, you cannot create your own studio merge fields.
- Your completed fields will be available for all templates and scripts using the merge tag drop down or @ symbol
- Merge fields will only be available for you to select if there is a value in the relevant input - If a studio merge field has an empty value, you will not have the option to select that merge field from the drop down
- Automations cannot be enabled if the associated template has unresolved merge fields
- Email Blasts cannot be sent if the associated template has unresolved merge fields
- Templates cannot be saved if it includes an unresolved merge field
- Messages cannot be sent if they include an unresolved merge field
- Once a merge field input has a value, it cannot be deleted or removed - only edited
